Description | How to Get the Nobel Prize in Literature: Everything You Always Wanted to Know about the Nobel Prize but were Afraid to Ask the Permanent Secretary With Professor Sara Danius, Permanent Secretary of the Swedish Academy Join us for a lecture with Professor Sara Danius, the first woman to hold the position of Permanent Secretary of the Swedish Academy office in 230 years. Professor Danius received her PhD from Duke University, and has published a number of books, including The Senses of Modernism: Technology, Perception, and Aesthetics. Francoise Meltzer, Chair of the Department of Comparative Literature, and Steven Rings, Associate Professor of Music, will join the discussion. James Chandler, Director of the Franke Institute, and Martha Feldman, President of the American Musicological Society and Professor of Music, will give a welcome and introduction. A reception will follow. |
