Lina Meruane, “Chilestinians: Notes on the Palestinian Diaspora in Chile”

In this lecture, Lina Meruane will discuss Palestine and the Palestinian diaspora in Chile in relation to her creative work on the topic, Palestina en pedazos (Palestine in Pieces 2021). After the lecture, the author will be in conversation with Visiting Professor Ahmad Qabaha (Comparative Literature).

Lina Meruane is a Chilean writer and scholar of Palestinian descent who teaches at New York University. She is the author of novels such as Sangre en el ojo (Seeing Red), Sistema nervioso (Nervous System), and essays such as Contra los hijos (Against Children), Viral Voyages (2014), and Coloquio de las quiltras. Argumentos caninos ante la crisis del feminismo (2024). Her work has received many awards and has been translated into English, Italian, German, Dutch, French and Portuguese.
