Are you a faculty, student, or community member interested in teaching and learning with the historic Oak Woods Cemetery in Woodlawn?
Please join us on May 9th, 2025 for a day-long workshop on teaching and learning with Oak Woods Cemetery at the Gray Center for Arts and Inquiry (929 E. 60th St.)
We will have conversations centered around place-based learning, co-learning, and teaching resources for site-based pedagogy. The workshop will be followed by a film screening of Beyond Closure, which traces the impact of the Chicago’s 2013 public school closures and highlights the importance of community self-determination centered around places for learning in the city.
All are welcome, lunch will be provided. Registration is required.
